• Comprendre la structuration des décisions de justice
• Acquérir le vocabulaire juridique de base

This course provides an introduction to common law, the legal system of the UK and the US. Unlike civil law, common law is uncodified and based on the idea of precedent. During the lessons, we will first present the origins of common law before focusing on the English and American judicial systems from a historical and a contemporary point of view in order to highlight the differences between the two systems. This contrastive approach will also allow us to define the various fields of law and to study the role of institutions, particularly the judicial branch.
